How Voter Intelligence works

Nothing for your team to run. It happens while they sleep.

1

Assign tomorrow's route

Build routes the way you already do — Auto Turf, polygon, or an uploaded list — and assign them to your canvassers.

2

Overnight research runs

doornoc researches every voter on the route across public web sources — search, local news, professional profiles — and keeps only high-confidence matches.

3

Briefs are waiting at the door

Each household in walking mode carries its brief: a short bio, verified findings with sources, and conversation starters. Glance, knock, talk like a neighbor.

What's in a brief

Verified findings, with sources

Every claim carries a link to the public page it came from. Your canvasser can check it in one tap — no mystery data.

Conversation starters

Two or three natural openers per voter — the youth league, the Main Street project, the issue they visibly care about. Real openers, not scripts.

A two-sentence bio

Who lives here, what they do, how long they've been in the neighborhood — enough context to knock with confidence, short enough to read on a porch.

Inside the knock screen

The brief lives where the knock happens — walking mode. No second app, no printed dossiers left on a dashboard.

Runs overnight, at scale

About a thousand voters a night — a full day of canvassing for several teams — researched before your volunteers wake up.

Conservative by design

If the match isn't high-confidence, the research is discarded — a voter gets the standard voting-history view, never someone else's biography.

Public sources. Cited claims. Honored opt-outs.

Voter Intelligence compiles what is already public — the pages anyone could find by searching a name — and links every claim to its source. It is built for a better conversation on a doorstep, not for ad targeting or resale. Voters who ask not to be researched are excluded, and their briefs are deleted.

Frequently asked questions

What is doornoc Voter Intelligence?

Voter Intelligence is an overnight research layer for canvassing. The night before your team walks a route, doornoc researches every voter on it using public web sources and builds a short door brief: who the person is, what they visibly care about, and a few natural ways to open the conversation. Canvassers see the brief inside the knock screen when they reach the door — no extra app, no printouts.

Where does the information come from?

Public sources only: open web search, local news coverage, professional profiles, and other pages anyone could find with a search engine. doornoc does not buy private data brokers’ dossiers, does not scrape platforms that prohibit it, and every claim in a brief is linked to the public page it came from, so you can check the source yourself before you knock.

How accurate is the matching?

Matching a voter-file row to the right public presence is the hard part, and doornoc treats it conservatively. A candidate match has to line up on name, geography, and age before it is accepted; if the pipeline is not confident it found the right person, it discards the research rather than guessing. In field testing on live routes, well over half of voters produced a high-confidence brief — and the rest simply show the standard voting-history view, not someone else’s biography.

Is this legal, and can voters opt out?

The research uses the same public pages a volunteer could find by searching a name before knocking — compiled automatically and cited. It is built for doorstep conversations, not for ad targeting or resale. Opt-outs are honored: a voter who asks not to be researched is excluded, and their existing brief is deleted.

What does Voter Intelligence cost?

The pipeline was engineered to be cheap enough to run on every door, not just high-dollar targets: research costs work out to under a cent per voter, and a single overnight run covers about a thousand voters — a full day of canvassing for several teams. During early access it is enabled per campaign; talk to us and we will switch it on for your race.

How do canvassers actually use it at the door?

They do not have to do anything. When a route is assigned, the overnight run happens on its own, and the next morning each household in walking mode carries its brief: a two-sentence summary, the verified findings with sources, and two or three conversation starters. A canvasser glances at it on the porch, knocks, and talks like a neighbor instead of a script.
